mystique

the past few days have been a revelation for me. sort of received a body blow to my convictions of what is really romantic or even "sweet". let me begin by posting the poem of my friend's that i have sort of lashed out at:

i don't know your name
but for me
life won't be again the same

for i've seen the most beautiful eyes
so silent, mysterious
yet vivacious and so full of life

i haven't written before, i may not write again
i hadn't seen you before, i may not see again
but today i realized why it is said
that in love there is a pious pain

forget the context of the poem. but i had thought that if i were a girl and some guy had given me this, i would be amused and would be thinking that the guy is pretty desperate, but apparently i have been wrong. of the three members of the opposite sex who talked to me about this, two thought that the poem was pretty "sweet"!!! one of 'em even went as far as "i appreciate his sincerity". only one was bit more in sync with me. but then she knew the guy. so i am beginning to wonder whether i have got my take on things all wrong! or is /me going soft...

poetry-slice

i have always wanted to write poetry and now that lots of people are doing it, i am unleashing my creations on the unsuspecting public. /me is waiting with fingers crossed for the call from the griffin trust.

thine eyes

antartica is full of ice
so there ain't no mice
to eat all the rice
or any of the spice
so say the wise
the place is so nice
to sit and play dice
and maybe pick 'em lice
or just sit swapping lies
looking up at the skies
oh, and yes, it reminds me of thy eyes

the maiden strikes

today had a lot of surprises for me! i was approached by a corporate headhunter and the company profile was so compelling that i had no option but to accept. after all its not every day that you are offered a job in peace-keeping with a bit of mafia troubleshooting on the side. i have always been sympathetic to the unquenchable desire for world peace commonly found in long-legged females of the species and now that i get a chance, i wouldn't want to miss out on it. and just when i thought the day couldn't get better one of my friends posts this. well sort of explains the earthquake that hit tokyo. its the makers of haiku collectively turning in their garves :-)
